The road to your dream job in Cybersecurity lays ahead. In just 3 jam-packed modules you'll go from bright-eyed aspiring techie to job-ready Cybersecurity Officer! But what exactly will it look like?
Once you become an official Ironhacker, you will be given 20 hours of online learning material. To get you ready for learning Cybersecurity, this prework will familiarize you with computer systems (what is a computer, how it works and what are its main functionalities), operating systems (main operations, processes, file systems and sytem commands), and networks (principles, types, protocols and configuration). This knowledge will set you up to have a productive and meaningful learning process during the bootcamp.
INTRODUCTION TO CYBERSECURITY
You'll start off by developing your Cybersecurity mindset, from being introduced to the ins-and-outs of the industry to learning the most important hands-on concepts needed to break into it. Starting off with a more theoretical approach, you'll learn key aspects such as networking traffic, communication principles, network and routing protocols and services, telecommunication concepts, overview of the OWASP and network security principles.
Your first project will see you implementing new concepts right away, such as the creation and analysis of critical network servers, analysis of network topologies, mapping and OS Fingerprinting, encrypting and decrypting data and media, backup and recovery...to name a few!
SECURITY AND THREATS
Next you'll learn how to understand and build a security program, as well as to identify and tackle today's principles and most common threats. You will work in projects where you will have to ensure that there is a certain level of Network Security through Access Controls and Hardening Techniques, as well as learning how to configurate and use a Firewall. Creating a safe network won’t be enough, and you will also learn and create your own detection and prevention system as well as learn how to configure and use an event management system on security information to detect and analyze the threats. You'll also get a deep-dive on cyber-forensic methodologies and investigation.
At the end of this module, you'll be able to conduct a vulnerability and complicance scan, perform an incident response, a damage assessment, as well as an incident triage whilst tracking and reporting everything.
CYBER ATTACK PROJECT
You'll finish off your bootcamp by protecting from real time cyber attacks, whilst improving the new skillset you've attained during the course. You'll get an analysis of upcoming trends in the market, perform security analysis and architecture evaluation, and perform static and dynamic analysis from different data sources, whilst learning how to handle digital evidence.
This last module is project-focused, with your grande finale being a hands-on scenario that will solidify everything you've learned at Ironhack, and get you prepared for your new career!
No two days at Ironhack are the same! We can give you a taste of what a day as an Ironhacker could look like, but check with your Admissions Manager for a more accurate timetable.
