Why now, why Lisbon?

New job opportunities

Lisbon has for a while been a great location for tech companies to set up their headquarters, and bring with them a wealth of innovation and job opportunities. The possibility to work remotely also allows many to start their career in Lisbon, before relocating to other parts of this beautiful country. There has never been a better time (or place) to make the shift to tech in Lisbon, or across Portugal!

Start-up environment

The Lisbon tech start-up environment has been growing during the last few years, thanks in part to policies such as start-up visas for tech entrepreneurs. Some of the most popular start-ups are Kitch, Sensei, Virtuleap and Replai (that raised $1.2 million last year). Ironhack Lisbon is part of Heden Lisbon, a coworking space and start-up hub - the perfect place to network and be inspired!

Perfect spot for digital nomads and international communities

The cultural mixing pot that is Lisbon, has long been a popular destination for international students wanting to experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures. This is nowadays as important as having the technical skills needed to land a job in the tech industry, and Lisbon is one of the best cities to experience that!

Lifestyle and leisure

We know that there is more to life than learning tech skills! If you love surfing, going to the beach or just being outdoors, Lisbon is the place to be. This is one of the top five European cities with the most sunshine per year, with a variety of exciting ways to take advantage of it. Join us on campus and enjoy an IronBeer while networking and admiring our view of the Tejo River!
