Founded in 2023, Ironhack has evolved into a global force in tech education, with a presence in six cities worldwide. The company has consistently demonstrated its commitment to bridging the skills gap in the tech industry, providing cutting-edge programs and immersive learning experiences.

Before we dive into what we’ve been up to over the past ten years, let’s review what makes Ironhack unique in the growing world of tech bootcamps.

“Reflecting on the past decade at Ironhack, it’s truly humbling to see our evolution from a small startup trying to change education out of Madrid to an international company that has impacted the lives of over 20k grads all over the world. Celebrating our 10-year milestone, I want to thank all of our current students and alumni who have trusted us with their education, all of our team members who have been absolutely instrumental in helping us get to this point and define our values. Looking ahead, we aim to see our graduates shaping diverse industries globally and to continue leading the Tech education revolution globally!

Once an Ironhacker, always an Ironhacker. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey!”

Why Ironhack?

At Ironhack, the learning journey is more than just lectures or code demos. These types of interactions, as traditional as they are, are obviously important; it's a dynamic blend of live instructor-led classes and hands-on activities, ensuring a robust understanding of industry-relevant technologies like JavaScript, React, Python, and more. Unlike traditional models, Ironhack adopts a "Learn by Doing Methodology," emphasizing practical skills through real-world projects guided by industry professionals who not only teach but inspire.

Ironhack's commitment to inclusivity is evident in its open-door policy, welcoming beginners without prerequisites, and supporting them through pre-work courses. The emphasis on portfolio development, with over 400 hours of practical learning, enhances employability, setting graduates apart in the job market.

"Being able to be a part of Ironhack for over 5 of the 10 years, I take pride in the incredible friendships forged with Ironhackers and witnessing their flourishing tech careers. I’ve been able to experience many shifts in emerging technologies and being part of a forward-thinking organization fuels my passion for Ironhack.I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years have in store for Ironhack as we continue supporting enterprises at scale and connecting with Ironhackers worldwide." - Lisa Nuessle, Enterprise Sales US

In essence, Ironhack's holistic, innovative, and adaptive approach redefines education in technology, propelling students toward successful careers with a skill set and mindset that extends beyond the classroom:

  • Learn by doing methodology: we believe in hands-on learning and project-based curriculum; our learning method is a mix of live, instructor-led lessons and 60% hands-on activities such as demonstrations, code-a-longs, and guided practice with teachers.

  • Data driven learning science: our Learning Experience Design team co-creates with teachers innovative tools to make learning more effective to get the perfect balance between challenge and ability–all while keeping it fun!

  • Industry-relevant curriculum: we constantly update our curriculum to align with industry needs, analyzing job market trends (twice a year) and feedback from employers to ensure our curricula are up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies.

  • Highly rated instructors: our instructors are industry professionals with both practical experience and the ability to help you learn in the most effective way possible.

  • Start from scratch: no previous knowledge or experience in programming, design, statistics or business is required to join our bootcamps. With the right mindset and our comprehensive support system, you'll be empowered to embark on a successful journey in the tech industry.

  • Portfolio development: graduating from Ironhack means you’ll have had over 400 hours of practical learning experience. The emphasis on practical, real-world skills and being able to employ not only what you know how to do, but how you are able to continue to teach yourself after the bootcamp will set you apart when seeking job opportunities.

  • Exclusive access to a hiring partner and employer network: getting a job can be hard–we know. With over 12,500 alumni and over 1000 partners in the tech space, we can give exclusive access to our partners, early access to job offers before they go public, and fast tracks to our highly selective Hire-Train-Deploy programmes where we’ll hire you and place you in a company!

  • Flexible work environments: at Irohack, you can come to campus and, just like a real job, have flex days to work from home to save time on that commute.

  • Peer-to-peer learning and collaboration: we’ll teach you how to work as part of an Agile team–a critical skill not only to land a job but to keep it! Not only will you benefit from the emotional support of your peers, but you’ll have a ready-made international professional network that will deepen over the years to come.

  • Dedicated program and success managers: no other schools give you not only a program manager to ensure that you stay on track, help you with unexpected life events but also a dedicated success manager who will guide you through the job seeking process and give you privileged access to our network of hiring partners.

The Ironhack Difference

At Ironhack, we aren’t only busy in the classrooms; we work diligently with companies and organizations to provide our students with the best opportunities: from job placements to scholarship opportunities, we’re dedicated to helping them make the most of their bootcamp. Here’s a sneak peek of what we’ve been up to:

  • Ironhack & Banco Popular Puerto Rico: together with Popular Bank, we launched an innovative emerging talent program to create 10 new enterprise software engineers.

  • Ironhack & EY: 20 aspiring developers were given the chance to study with Ironhack and be hired upon completion of the nine week course.

  • Ironhack & Zurich Insurance: with the goal of expanding the number of women in tech, Zurich Insurance sponsored the bootcamp education of a number of female applicants.

We’ve also worked with Meta, OfferUp, Uber, the Sims, the Miami Marlins, Openbank, and Accenture. And while what we’ve done with our partnerships is quite the feat, nothing compares to the joy we feel from seeing our graduates succeed in their new tech careers.

In 2017, I made the decision to leave Paris and join Ironhack to help establish and grow our operations in Mexico City. It's been an incredible journey since and I'm now the Head of Sales Enterprise in France. I am thrilled to continue making a difference in people's lives by assisting companies in upskilling their workforce and recruiting junior tech talent.

"Working at Ironhack has been so much more than just a job. It's been a transformative experience, both for me and for the countless individuals whose lives we've touched. It's been incredibly fulfilling to see the positive impact we've had across the globe. We've achieved some extraordinary things in the past, and we're even more excited for the future ahead." - Manon Pellat, Head of Enterprise Sales

Ironhack Alumni

Instead of trying to explain the success our alumni have found throughout the years, let’s let them tell you in their own words.

Kassandra Uehling went from a Disability Services Worked to UX/UI Designer with Ironhack Miami and told us:

“…Ironhack offered me an opportunity for a career that brings me joy and pays more than I ever thought possible with my educational background, or lack thereof.  I felt like I would always be financially stuck in a job I didn't like. Today, the absolute opposite is my truth.”

Ioana Oprea, a Parisian Cybersecurity Officer, originally began her career in the aerospace field, before finding success in Ironhack’s Remote Cybersecurity Bootcamp:

“I actually found several positions and I've already worked for 3 companies since I graduated last year, all of them in cybersecurity. It was hardest in the beginning, due to the obvious lack of cyber work experience. But once I got on the cyber market, it rained with opportunities and I was no longer forced to let other people choose me; I chose the best for myself.”

Leonard Philippe is another fantastic example of how Ironhack welcomes career changes from all sorts of different backgrounds; he studied art history before realizing UX/UI design was a better fit for him:

“Prior to joining Ironhack, I did a course in digital communication: this was my first experience with the technological world. Then a friend of mine recommended taking a look at Ironhack. This would allow me to break into tech, combining my knowledge of the art industry and tech to create a path forward.”

The past ten years have served as an incredible example of everything that we can accomplish, inspiring the next generation of techies to take that first step towards a fantastic future in tech. Our bootcamps in web development, UX/UI design, data analytics, and cybersecurity are ready for you.
